About Me

I completed my professional training at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and was also awarded certification by the US based HypnoBirthing Institute. I am accredited by the British Board of Medical Hypnosis and am an Associate Member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I am also a registered practitioner with the National Health Service.  More recently, I have trained as a life coach and an EFT practitioner and use the latter technique extensively with clients.

Apart from my therapy practice, I also lecture in a number of subjects including Economics, PR, Marketing and Group Dynamics. I presently lecture at Greenwich School of Management and Queen Mary College, London University.

In my spare time I take a keen interest in virtually everything to do with human existence, and in particular on psychology and the human potential movement, art, history and current affairs, music, football and various forms of dance including street locking/popping and hip hop.

Why you shouldn’t come and see me

We all have issues that we wish would just magically melt away. Sometimes we can spend years procrastinating about problems – this is something that most of us have done. And then we finally do something about them, we wonder why we didn’t make the effort before.

That could apply to anything – a relationship that just doesn’t make you happy, a problem at work that is stopping you moving forward, an issue or memory that is stopping you feeling good about yourself…... everyone has something in their life they would love to change.

Unfortunately I have to disappoint you……although sometimes problems can shift remarkably quickly, coming to see me will NOT be like waving a magic wand.

No matter what other therapists will promise you, it is always you that will have to do the work of changing. No-one can live your life for you.

Even if that ‘work’ means as little as picking up the phone to me NOW to book an appointment it is still your effort that will ultimately transform your life for the better.

However I can promise you that there is tremendous benefit from having someone there to help, particularly if they are using powerful tools like hypnosis and EFT. Things frequently progress faster than you could ever have imagined. You discover talents and resources you never dreamed you had. I’m a great believer that seeing a therapist should be as enjoyable an experience as possible and people usually report that they love learning more about themselves and who they truly are.

So you shouldn’t come and see me if you want to hand over responsibility for yourself to someone else. I really wouldn’t be the right person for you to talk to.

However, if you do want to take control of your life – pick up the phone NOW.

How I work

When I work I am careful to adapt my style and approach to the needs of the individual. Everyone is unique and I always strive to find the perfect approach to suit the person.

I prefer to offer sessions of 1.5 hrs rather than the more normal 1 hour, as I find that that extra time to talk really makes an enormous difference.  1 hour really isn’t very long when you are dealing with situations that can be quite complex.

I will work with you on anything that is important to you, whether that is stopping smoking, or wanting to change your whole life.  If you come with any particular problem I will encourage you to see how you can make the relevant adjustments in other areas of your life, so that any improvements we make together can really be ones that last.

I actively encourage people to learn how to use tools like hypnosis and EFT themselves, so they are less reliant on professionals like me. Using EFT means that I am able to offer phone sessions as well, so people anywhere in the world can be helped.

I’m not a standard hypnotherapist because I don’t believe that symptoms can or should be separated from the underlying causes without dealing with that cause as well.

I’m more interested in teaching people how to fish than in giving them a fish. With that in mind, I help people let go of deep seated emotions such as anxiety and anger so they can feel happier and more empowered in general - and understand themselves better, so they are able to be their own therapist in the future.

So if the idea of becoming emotionally stronger, calmer and more self-sufficient appeals to you, pick up the phone to me now.
